These Halloween treats for kids will be great for your holiday parties, October celebrations, and other spooky gatherings this month.
I love Halloween. I love seeing all the kids get dressed up in their princess and superhero costumes. I love when little ghosts and goblins come ring my doorbell. I love the parade of little ones up and down the sidewalk all evening long.
What I don’t love, however, is all the candy! I hate the sugar rush followed by the inevitable sugar crash! I hate the chocolate sitting in our candy bowl screaming my name. I hate the guilt I feel as I sneak mini Hershey bars after the kids are finally in bed. (Tell me I’m not the only one!)
20 Halloween Treats for Kids
So, as we prepare for our co-op Halloween party next month, I thought I’d offer you a list of {mostly} candy-free Halloween treats!
Some involve a little candy, but many of these ideas are candy-free! These will be great for your Halloween parties, October celebrations, and other spooky gatherings next month.
Peekaboo Pumpkin Cake | She Knows – There’s a fun surprise baked right in to this tasty cake!
Easy Halloween Spider Cookies | Princess Pinky Girl – Halloween Spider Cookies are the easiest and cutest Halloween dessert ever! All you need is your favorite cookie, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, candy eyes and some chocolate drizzle!
Low Fat Chocolate Mummy Cupcakes | Skinny Taste – I think I’m going to have Em make these for her class party at co-op.
Zombie Bait Chex Mix | Food, Folks and Fun – This is a quick and easy snacks that the kids can help you make. Older kids can probably make it themselves.
Spider Cheeseball | Mom Endeavors – My husband’s aunt makes cheeseballs for all of our family functions, but she’s never made one like this!
Frankenstein Pudding Cups | A Turtle’s Life for Me – Oohh… my boys would have loved this one!
Boo Nanas | Love Bakes Good Cakes – These treats are not only easy to make, but look oh so yummy!
Halloween Monster Mouths | Raining Hot Coupons – Add these to your snack tables, and all the little monsters will gobble them up!
Pretzel Bones | A Worthey Read – This one’s so easy the kids can do it with little (or no) help!
Witch’s Broom Sticks | Cincy Shopper – These are awesome! They’re totally healthy, and a great alternative to sweets.
Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies | Living Well Mom – We love all things pumpkin in my house! We’re planning to give these a try with some gluten-free oats and flour. Yum!
Monster Eyeball Pretzels | Princess Pinky Girl – These will certainly add a spooky treat to your Halloween festivities!
Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats | Embark on the Journey – We made these last year and shared them at dance one evening. All the kids enjoyed them!
Gingerbread Skeletons | Total Bristol – I love, love this spooky twist on traditional gingerbread men! The rest of the treats shown are pretty amazing, as well.
Pumpkin Spice Trail Mix | The Country Chic Cottage – Because Chex cereals are gluten-free, we love to make trail mixes at our house. This one is perfect for fall!
Applesauce Monsters | The Nerd’s Wife – Em likes me to pack applesauce in her lunchbox on the days she attends co-op. These monsters will definitely make an appearance in October!
Banana Ghosts | Cooking Light – Here’s another fun banana ghost option.
String Cheese Ghosts | Thrifty Jinxy – Spooky snacks don’t get any easier than this!
Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes | Embark on the Journey – I’m not a fan of pumpkin pie, but these pumpkin pie cupcakes are ah-mazing!
Donut Pumpkins | It’s Always Autumn – These donut pumpkins are the cutest thing ever!
