I love the story of Jonah and the Whale. Here we have a young man who has been called by God to perform a task. He is frightened and runs away. God, however, pursues him all the way out into the middle of the sea.
After being swallowed by a whale, Jonah prays and promises to do the task God asked him to do. God watches over him, and the whale spits Jonah out on dry land. Jonah hurries to complete the task that God sent him to do.
This is a great story that speaks of obedience, faith, and follow-through. There are many different versions of the Jonah and the Whale story that your kids will enjoy.
