I can’t even begin to tell you how much money we have spent on LEGOs over the years. My oldest was more into Hot Wheels than LEGOs, but he still had his fair share. My middle child, however, was obsessed with LEGOs. He would save for months to buy the really expensive ships and Star Wars sets.
Though we no longer have them spread throughout the house, Emma has developed a new love for LEGO Friends. She loves to buy new sets with her allowance and create playscape on her bookcase.
If you have a LEGO fan in your house, you’ll want to check out this awesome list of LEGO books!

This weekend I bought a box of classic Legos for my four kids. My youngest son has been the most involved with them. He creates all kinds of structures with them. He’s sitting next to me right now looking at these books. He’s so amazed by them. He wants one of the books to teach him how to build “really cool things” with his Legos. haha
Thanks for sharing!

I have five boys. Yes, we swim in Legos.
Legos have been the best toys my kids have ever received. Even at 9, 11, 13, and 16 they will still build and build with their Legos. The olds boys have created some fantastic ships from their own imaginations. I am awestruck at their creativity.
To stay sane, I have a few Lego rules.
1. Legos never go outside. (Or I place a huge blanket in the grass and they are only allowed on the blanket).
2. All Legos must be stored into bins. (We have those clear sterilite bins that at about 12″ x 24″ x 14″. For large quantities and then shoebox sized bins for smaller sets or special pieces.
3. I collect all instruction manuals and place them into a binder. I wish I started this sooner, but the boys honestly have most of their instruction booklets for all their sets. They actually study them For ideas.
4. When the boys were little, I made them play with Legos on blankets or beach towels. We rarely lose pieces!
5. I take pictures of special creations and periodically require them to be disassembled. This has sparked massive jumps in creativity. Some kids need a few days to say goodbye to creations. Pictures make it easier. Who has a massive room for all of those creations? Plus they get dusty.

We have a huge bin of Lego at our house. All of my five children love it! It is so much fun to see what they create! They are also involved in our local Lego club and it is one of the highlights of our week! Building things together and seeing what we can create. Thanks for sharing, I’ve seen some of these books but not all. Nice to see you at Favorite things Friday!
