I love finding new books to share with the littles that I love! And, when that book provides a new way to share a favorite Bible story, that makes it even better. Noah by Mark Ludy is a wonderful addition to my home library, and I think you’ll enjoy it, as well.
The artwork in Noah is simply amazing. The fact that there are no words allows young ‘readers’ to ‘read’ the story to their parents. The facial expressions on Noah and his family really do bring the story to life. You can feel the emotion radiating off the pages. They aren’t cutesy pictures which makes the artwork stand out in my opinion.
It may help if readers have some knowledge of the original Noah’s Ark story in order to know what is going on in the pictures. However, the story {even in its most basic form} is so well known that this shouldn’t be an issue even if a reader hasn’t heard the story from the Bible. I found that the picture book followed the Bible story accurately.
After “reading” the story, you can invite older children to search for Squeakers the mouse who is hiding on every page. Little ones may have a hard time finding him, but I had fun hunting for him on my own.
